2019 – INTERNATIONAL WHITE CANE DAY GIFT FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED AND BLIND

Sameera Foundation and Association of Visually Impaired (Attock District) organised International White Cane day on 15th October 2019. The association organised a Rally in the town and the event was celebrated by the dignitaries of the local community, public and visually impaired & Blind of the District. Sameera Foundation gifted white canes which were distributed by Deputy Commissioner of Attock District for visually impaired or blind.
International White Cane Day takes place on October 15th each year and the day is observed worldwide to recognise the movement of blind people from dependency to full participation in society.
Throughout the world, the long white cane is used by people who are blind or visually impaired as a tool for safe and reliable navigation. The white cane is a symbol of the user’s skills and talents, mobility and independence. It also allows the sighted person to recognize that the user is visually impaired.

BY A SMALL DONATION YOU COULD CHANGE SOMEONE’S LIFE

It is unfortunate that about 25 million children in Pakistan are deprived of basic education and don’t attend any school. Sameera Foundation is working hard to encourage and support the financially disadvantaged children notably girls in the Chach region of Pakistan to attend school by providing them with educational grants. This grant covers school fee (or admission fee and examination fee, where applicable), complete school uniform, shoes, school bag and notebooks. The cost of education of an orphan and/or financially disadvantaged child for complete year is around £20. Your donation of  £1 could make a significant difference in the life of  someone who is not privileged like many of us, thus giving a child an opportunity to gain a better future through education.

£3 donation could purchase 10 notebooks; £3 donation could provide a school bag;

£4 donation could buy a pair of shoes; and £10 donation could provide school uniform

We conduct all our  charitable work professionally and robustly, maintaining a high standard of transparency and accountability at all times.  The donor is informed at every step of how, where and with whom the money is spent. You can also choose the name of a scholarship/grant and recipients will be informed about it.

We look forward for your continuous support from your Zakat, Sadaqh or charity for this charitable and noble cause. YOU CAN DONATE ON LINE at www.sameerafoundation.org or send your donations to the following account: Sameera Foundation, Account 40338427, Sort Code 20-76-89; SWIFT BIC: BARCGB22; IBAN: GB43 BARC 2076 8940 3384 27
