Association of Volunteers for Vulnerable Persons and Orphaned Children, “AVPVEO” in acronym is a non-profit association which currently works in the territories of Uvira and Fizi, Congo. AVPVEO was created on March 15, 2009.
AVPVEO mission is to defend human rights in general and protect vulnerable, disabled and orphans in particular based on their level of vulnerability. AVPVEO NGO organization, given its limited financial means, is currently looking after 52 orphans vulnerable children.
These children did not even have a place to sleep, some spent the night in the canals of the avenues, others in schools that do not have doors or windows and finally some girls from 12 to 15 years old suffered from sexual violence in order to find a place to sleep and eat, it sometimes happened that they were used in bars and refreshments where they slept with men over 50 years old. In addition, they selected children orphaned by the father and mother. In their selection strategy, they established a line from the street and another to pastors of local churches in the area.
We distributed specially designed school bags for these orphans.
